Refugee series

This series of oil pastel drawings is about our crisis of so many people having to leave their homes, heading toward unknown dangers to safety and freedom.

Through old habits and inattention, we may miss or ignore a continuous thread that is characteristic in our education process, and in simply being human... we are interconnected. Refugees are our kin in an increasingly close humanity. We turn away only to witness our own denial of relationship. I hope this work serves to remind...

These drawings are all oil pastel drawings and were completed in 2018. Each measures 30" x 22".
